List of Services
Oriental Medicine, commonly referred to as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consists of many healing modalities. Your acupuncture treatments may include tui na, moxabustion, auricular (ear) acupuncture, cupping, herbal formula recommendations, and nutritional advice based on your individual TCM pattern.
- Tui Na
Chinese acupoint pressure massage - Gua Sha
Improves circulation by gently scraping the skin - Shoni Shin
Generally used on children, often described as "non-needle acupuncture" - Moxabustion
Use of the herb mugwort (artemisiae) to help increase blood circulation. The herb is burned for transdermal administration. - Auricular Acupuncture
The ear is a microcosm of the body. Many points in the ear represent points in the body and can be stimulated using either tiny needles or ear seeds. - Cupping
Glass cups applied using suction for increased circulation, most commonly used for orthopedic disorders or the common cold. - Chinese Herbology
The use of Chinese herbs is complex. Rarely is only one herb used by itself, but is combined with several others into a formula. Different actions and tastes of herbs compliment each other for maximum effect and minimum side effects. Chinese herbal formulas have been developed over thousands of years to yield expected outcomes.
